Jade plants (Crassula ovata) are a type of succulent that is popular for their thick, glossy leaves and ease of care. Here's a guide on how to grow and care for jade plants:

1. Light:

Jade plants prefer bright, indirect light. Place them near a south or west-facing window, but be sure to keep them out of direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.

2. Watering:

Allow the soil to dry out between watering. Water deeply when the soil is dry to the touch. Be careful not to over-water, as jade plants are susceptible to root rot.

3. Soil:

Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix.

4. Temperature:

Jade plants prefer temperatures between 60-75°F. They can tolerate temperatures as low as 50°F, but not for extended periods.

5. Fertilizer:

Fertilize jade plants monthly during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.

3. Pruning:

Prune jade plants to control their size and shape. Pinch back the tips to encourage bushier growth.

3. Re-potting:

Re-pot jade plants every 2-3 years to refresh the soil and give the roots more room to grow.

2. Propagation:

Jade plants can be propagated easily from leaf or stem cuttings. Allow the cuttings to callus over for several days before planting them in well-draining soil.

Jade plants are relatively low maintenance, but they are sensitive to overwatering and low light conditions. Provide them with the proper care, and they will thrive for many years.
