Description

The fiddle-leaf fig plant (Ficus lyrata) is a popular indoor plant that is known for its large, glossy leaves. It is native to tropical rainforests and prefers bright, indirect light and warm temperatures. Fiddle-leaf figs are relatively easy to care for, but they can be sensitive to overwatering.

Here are some tips for caring for a fiddle-leaf fig plant:
Place your fiddle-leaf fig in a spot where it will receive bright, indirect light. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves.
Water your fiddle-leaf fig when the top inch of soil is dry. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems with fiddle-leaf figs.
Keep your fiddle-leaf fig in a warm environment. The ideal temperature is between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
Fertilize your fiddle-leaf fig every few months with a balanced fertilizer.

LIGHTING

Fiddle-leaf figs need filtered light to grow and look their

best in this plant. This plant can burn the leaves if placed in direct
sunlight. If kept in very low light, these plants will fail to grow quickly.

TEMPERATURE

Temperatures between 60-85 degrees F are generally fine,

Fiddle-Leaf Fig does not like excessive temperature fluctuations. This plant
must be kept away from drafty areas and away from air conditioning and
heating vents. Because they can cause temperature changes.

WATERING

Fiddle-Leaf Fig should be misted daily with clean water in

a spray bottle, this is beneficial for this plant. Again it can be placed
in a tray of gravel filled with water until the bottom of the pot does not
touch the water. Fiddle-leaf figs are best kept in a room with a humidifier.
Overwatering this plant can cause the plant to drop its leaves and cause the
plant to die. Figs should be watered when the top inch of soil dries out during the growing season.

HUMIDITY

The ideal humidity for fiddle-leaf figs is between 30%-65%. If the area

where the plant will be kept is too dry, the plant should be supplemented with additional
moisture by supplying a humidifier. Avoid placing the fig tree near heater vents.

SOIL

Fiddle-leaf figs prefer well-draining soil. A good potting mix for fiddle-leaf figs is

a mix of potting soil, perlite, and peat moss.

PROPAGATION

You can propagate fiddle-leaf figs from cuttings. Take a 6-inch cutting

and let it dry for a few days. Then, plant it in a well-draining potting mix.

FERTILIZER

Fertilizer should be given once a month in spring or summer which

contains a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium ratio of 3:1:2, it is beneficial for plants. Besides, only fertilizer should be mixed in the normally watered can. No need to fertilize in autumn and winter.

PESTS AND DISEASES

Fiddle-leaf figs are susceptible to pests such as mealybugs and scale insects.

You can treat these pests with insecticidal soap or neem oil. Fiddle-leaf figs can also be susceptible to diseases such as root rot and leaf spot. To prevent these diseases, water your plant properly and avoid overwatering.

RE-POTTING

Plan to report a young fig annually every spring. In this

case, take a sturdy pot that is about 2 inches larger in diameter than
the existing one and replant it. Before this, the plant should be gently
loosened and lifted from the current container. Once the plant has matured,
it can be large enough to report. So every spring a few inches of soil should be
removed and replaced with fresh soil. If potting outside, it should be done if
it is 50 degrees F.

BEGINNER-FRIENDLY

Fiddle-leaf figs are not the easiest plants to care for, but they are not the most

difficult either. With proper care, they can thrive for many years.

PRUNING

Fiddle-Leaf Figs should be pruned in spring to give them plenty of time and energy

to regrow. Pruning is basically to remove dead leaves and encourage new growth. Pruning
requires the use of sharp, clean pruning shears. Leaves should be cut half an inch from the
stem and 5-10 leaves should not be removed at once.

TOXICITY

Fiddle-leaf figs are toxic to pets and humans. If ingested, they can cause vomiting,

diarrhea, and other symptoms. Keep your fiddle-leaf fig out of reach of pets and children.

A delivery method within Dhaka

In case of a low quantity of plants sent, Redx Courier, Pathao Courier and Xian Garden's staff provide home delivery within Dhaka. If the amount of plants is more, delivery is provided by S.A Paribahan Courier Service. Home delivery from Xian Garden to the customer's address within 2-3 working days of ordering within Dhaka. If the amount of trees is more, the trees will be delivered to the customer within two working days of ordering by S.A Paribahan Courier Service.

Delivery method outside Dhaka

Send if the amount of plants is less, home delivery is provided outside Dhaka through Redx Courier and Pathao Courier. If you want to take a tree for home delivery outside Dhaka, only the tree and pot are provided, and no soil is provided. If the amount of trees is more, we deliver to all district cities outside Dhaka through S.A Paribahan Courier Service.

If the quantity of plants outside Dhaka is less, the home delivery will reach the customer's address from Xian Garden within 3-4 working days of ordering. If the amount of trees is more, the trees will contact the customer within two working days through S.A Paribahan Courier Service.

Returns:

Xian Garden does not accept returns on plants. Because receiving returns does not have standard packaging, the plants will be damaged due to transit stress on both sides. But we guarantee that every tree will reach the customer in excellent condition. Please note that transit stress may cause the plant to appear somewhat dull. But rest assured that exposure to sunlight and proper watering will restore the plant to its healthy natural state.
